Hybrid mesh: stainless steel as the core of the carpet

As the world market leader for woven solutions made of metal and other industrially weaveable materials, GKD – GEBR. KUFFERATH AG is always open for new developments. A current example is the innovative Texteel hybrid mesh made of stainless steel and carpet fibers developed in cooperation with the carpet manufacturer ANKER.

GKD is extending the application or performance limits of existing products thanks to hybrid meshes featuring customized properties such as grip, pore size and multifunctionalities. These custom designs developed for specific applications often contribute toward improving overall process efficiency. The innovative hybrid mesh Texteel also opens up previously unimagined potential. By combining the hair yarn-style appearance of the Perlon Rips woolen yarn from ANKER, which is woven from polyamide, with the typical properties of stainless steel, GKD offers unprecedented possibilities. The company weaved the warp and weft wires of the innovative mesh structure from stainless steel and woolen yarn. Alongside the fascinating effect of shimmering stainless steel and Perlon Rips, the new type of hybrid mesh convinces through its exceptional strength. At the same time, the stainless steel functions as effective shielding from electromagnetic radiation. This range of qualities makes the innovative mesh ideal for a variety of applications.
